Lately I’ve been spending book time in LA in the late fifties.

Traveling via The Monstrous Misses Mai: a Novel by Van Hoang, made possible by Amazon Prime – First Reads.
On this trip I’m experiencing life as four young hard-working women in a first apartment together on the brink of make-it-or-break-it career establishment, friendship and quests for recognition. With the “help” of a charming but not entirely trustworthy man’s magic (and maybe some of their own).
I’m very happy with this travel choice. Though I don’t want to leave (there are definitely a lot of spots I want to explore and hang out in more), I’m eager to complete these journeys and see positive resolutions (I hope) to some stressful and scary problems! And maybe a special icing-on-the-cake connection for our heroine, Cordi.
I entirely trust my guide (the author), companions, and altar egos to make this trip a success. They are doing all of the hard work for me while I just go along for the ride from the safety of my bed.
